Another 24 people have died from coronavirus in Greater Manchester's hospitals. It brings the region's death toll to 1,824, NHS figures have confirmed.
It's the third day in a row the the number of deaths in Greater Manchester has topped 20, after more than a fortnight of the daily figure being in the teens or single figures.
Across the North West another 33 deaths were reported on Friday. London only saw seven deaths in the last 24 hours, but the Midlands suffered 44 deaths.
Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust recorded another 14 deaths on Friday, while Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust reported six more deaths.
