World Environment Day we’re being encouraged to ‘get active, not anxious’. Rather than attempting to reverse existing damage, the United Nations’ campaign is promoting restoration with this year’s #GenerationRestoration theme.
Habitat restoration is on everyone’s mind right now because we know there’s a link between biodiversity loss and disease pandemics, such as Covid-19.
Similarly, with the Olympics of climate change – COP26 (Climate Change Conference of the Parties) – taking place in Glasgow this November, reducing our carbon footprint is an ever-pressing issue for countries worldwide.
As the climate crisis worsens, living sustainably is becoming more important than ever, and there are steps we as individuals can take to do this.
