A woman dubbed 'Muscle Barbie' has revealed how she went from a high-achieving student on her way to law school to becoming a national powerlifting champion.
Julia Vins from Saratov, Russia started going to the gym at the age of 15 as she wanted to become more confident in herself and improve her fitness level.
The 24-year-old spent an hour travelling on the bus to get to the gym and was the only woman there – but that didn’t stop her from pursuing her passion.
She became focused on improving her mental and physical health as a way to cope with her father's alcoholism. Julia’s parents divorced when she was 12.
