A woman who booked a £500 on a luxury city centre apartment is warning others of online scams after she was given a 'completely different flat' to the one advertised.
Jayne Hindle, 32, from Worsley, booked the apartment though Booking.com about a month ago as a treat for her godson's 19th birthday.
She believed she was reserving a flat in Victoria Residence on Silvercroft Street, and described the accommodation as a 'beautiful apartment with a swimming pool'.
But upon arrival on July 22, Jayne was shown to a 'dirty', 'horrible' flat in a completely different building - with blankets covering the windows and even a half-eaten burger left in the oven. "It started to get a bit weird on the day as the host texted to say don't go into the building, wait outside and I'll come and meet you," Jayne said. "He met us and took us to a completely different building - Castle Wharf." Jayne said the apartment she was shown was 'horrible' and completely different to the flat she had been advertised.
