Sign up today for the best stories straight to your inboxA woman who attacked paramedics as they tried to rescue her from her burning home on Christmas Eve will spend New Year behind bars.Amy Winter, 40, was jailed for six months after she assaulted emergency workers who had come to rescue her from her home in Brighton, East Sussex.Police said the house was ablaze when firefighters entered and safely removed her from the burning property.She was taken outside where two paramedics attempted to administer first aid but she instead repeatedly punched them.Brighton Magistrates' Court heard the emergency workers suffered injuries to their arms as a result of the random attack.Ms Winter appeared.
