Wicked: For Good premiered at CinemaCon – here’s what you can expect from the forthcoming sequel to the 2024 blockbuster.Per Variety Fair, the clip made its debut at the week-long media event, which concludes today (April 3).
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo appeared onstage to introduce the trailer for the film, which is due for release November 21.“It has been quite a year since we joined you here last year,” Erivo said to the crowd, per the CinemaCon X/Twitter account.
The two actors were flanked by director Jon M. Chu and producer Marc Platt, the former stating: “We asked you to all believe in us when we were here last year and you did.”The Wicked: For Good trailer has yet to be shown to the public, so Variety Fair‘s report involves descriptions of scenes involving Grande’s Glinda and Erivo’s Elphaba.The former, seen wearing a large tiara given to her by Madame Horrible (Michelle Yeoh) and the Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum), is shown longing for Elphaba’s return.
She says in a voice-over: “Elphaba, I know you’re out there”.Elphaba, on the other hand, is persona non grata after the events of the first film.
