Many wearing an SFA blazer have talked the talk. But as Mike Mulraney tried his on for size as the new president at Hampden, it felt like he might actually walk the walk.The game’s hierarchy have been guilty of making too many empty promises when it comes to Scotland’s football facilities.
But Mulraney, who replaced Rod Petrie at the helm last week, says he’ll be the one who actually delivers. And to be fair to Alloa Athletic’s multi-millionaire owner, he has succeeded so far in life by getting things done.
So maybe Mulraney is the ideal man for the job.Too many past presidents haven’t been interested in legacy. But when the 54-year-old hangs up the blazer after a four-year term, he’s determined to have left one behind.
His mission is simple. More pitches, more people playing the game. Facilities have been close to Mulraney’s heart for a long time.
