United are interested in signing Atletico Madrid right-back Trippier, 30, and the England international has made arrangements to relocate permanently to his home city of Manchester.
However, the Manchester Evening News understands United have made no headway in discussions to sign Trippier as Atletico hold out for a higher fee than €20million.
