It’s Election Day in America, and that means citizens across the country will be waiting patiently to find out who our next President will be: Kamala Harris or Donald Trump.
So, many are likely wondering…what time will the POTUS election results be announced, or when will we know who won the election?
The answer is complicated, actually. We will have to wait until numerous states actually close their polls, which happens at various times throughout the evening.
Then, there might be further issues, such as recounts, legal proceedings, and more that could hold things up. Keep reading to find out more… A political science professor at Georgetown University, Hans Noel, explained to US News that it can take days or longer, if it’s a very close race or if there’s a recount needed. “If it’s very close then you need to make sure that it goes down to the end, and maybe there’s a recount and all of that mechanical stuff that takes time – days, maybe even longer,” Professor Noel told US News. “If things are close in any of these states, it’s likely that some kind of legal challenge gets raised about the outcome.
