Nurse Lucy Letby is facing a long stint behind bars after she was found guilty of murdering seven babies at the hospital she worked at.
Jurors spent 22-and-a-half days deliberating the case before reaching their verdicts on Friday, August 18, in one of the UK’s most high-profile criminal trials.
The 33-year-old was convicted by a jury following a 10-month trial in Manchester. Letby was found guilty of the murder of seven babies and the attempted murder of six more. Letby is due to be sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on the morning of Monday, August 21. The child killer will be handed a life sentence with a lengthy time behind bars, and could even be given the UK's most severe punishment for her crimes - a whole-life term, which would mean she never leaves prison.
