Tyson Fury and Oleksandr are set to battle to become the undisputed heavyweight world champion. After months of negotiations that previously ended in frustration, the two men have agreed to meet in the ring to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
It is a fight that will define both fighters’ legacies and determine who is the best heavyweight of their era. WBC champion Fury (33-0) is aiming to add Usyk’s IBF, WBA and WBO belts to his collection.
However, the ‘Gypsy King’ will first have to come through his crossover exhibition with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou on October 28 before stepping into the ring with Usyk.
In the opposite corner, Usyk (21-0) has already experienced undisputed status in the cruiserweight division, before making his move up to heavyweight.
