People across West Yorkshire have turned out to vote in the local elections 2024. All five borough councils in the county held elections on Thursday with voters in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakfield heading to the ballot box.
People were voting to have their say on who they think should run their local public services, including education, libraries, and bin collections.
Voters were also choosing a new mayor for the West Yorkshire combined authority area, which oversees areas of transport and regeneration. Mayoral elections took place in East Midland, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, North East, South Yorkshire, West Midlands, York and North Yorkshire, London and Salford.
