It also opened exclusively in theaters, and also sold fewer tickets in its initial weekend than In the Heights. However, it’s possible that the movie may have a long run in theaters.
For example, Chicago opened to $10 million and eventually went on to garner $170 million in North America. The Greatest Showman also only opened at $8.8 million, and went on to make $171 million.
