An emotional Prince Andrew has arrived at Westminster Abbey, after marching behind the Queen's coffin in a solemn procession from Westminster Hall for her funeral.
The Duke of York, who appeared to be holding back tears as he walked, is playing a ‘central role’ in the Queen’s funeral as the Royal Family put on a united front during the period of national mourning.
Directly behind the coffin during its transportation between Westminster Hall and Westminster Abbey, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, walked to the left, with Prince Andrew, the Duke of York to his right, Princess Anne to Andrew's right and King Charles III, flanking Anne, reports the Mirror.
The Prime Minister and the Secretary General of the Commonwealth will read Lessons, while the Archbishop of York, the Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland and the Free Churches Moderator will say Prayers.As well as the royal family and its extended members, many world leaders and dignitaries are at the funeral, including US President Joe Biden.Sir David Attenborough, born 17 days after the Queen and who produced several of the late monarch's Christmas speeches, is also among the mourners in the abbey.Meghan Markle was earlier seen arriving at building dressed all in black while her husband Prince Harry walked in the procession behind his grandmother's coffin.She entered a few steps behind Kate Middleton, whose husband the Prince of Wales also walked behind the coffin, with the Countess of Wessex between the pair.The funeral service will end with a two-minute silence at approximately 11:55am.Tonight the Queen will then be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh,
