New weather maps have taken on a chilling deep red and purple hue, signalling that Britain is set to be hit by snow and rain.
According to forecasters, temperatures are also expected to drop significantly on Friday, December 6, with Scotland, the North East of England and Northern Ireland all predicted to be covered in snow.The Scottish Highlands could see almost complete snow coverage, with up to two cm per hour forecasted at midnight on Saturday, December 7.
Other parts of Scotland, including Dumfries and Galloway, Strathclyde, and Lothian, could witness a staggering four cm of snow fall per hour.
By Wednesday, December 4 at midnight, Scotland is once again predicted to be blanketed in snow, with major cities like Inverness and Glasgow likely to bear the brunt.
