The latest Met Office weather map for this weekend shows huge parts of northern England covered by snow showers - just days before Christmas Day.

According to the map, at around 9am on Sunday morning, there will be snow showers across Yorkshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, the Peak District, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and even the edges of Greater Manchester.

However, the snow is not expected to settle or stay around, and by Monday morning, a huge band of rain will sweep across the UK.

The latest snow forecast comes as the Met Office issued two weather warnings for wind this weekend for Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the whole of western England.
