Luckily, you don't even need to step foot on a flight in order to experience the magic of the North Pole, as one leisure centre less than an hour from Manchester has underwent a total festive transformation for the season.

The Otterspool Adventure Centre has transformed into a "Lapland" extravaganza for the holiday season, decking out every corner of its indoor and outdoor spaces to create a winter wonderland. She wrote: "Elves were on hand to greet us, before my little one was given his own "ticket" to the North Pole, before we boarded a magical train.
