A Greater Manchester cafe that has become a 'lifeline' for the community it serves, has announced its closure. Staff at a cafe in Oldham have said they are 'heartbroken' to close the doors after 18 months.
The Woodlands Cafe based at Dunwood Park in Shaw, Oldham first opened on Halloween 2022, with the team hosting a big opening party for the local area.
The eatery, which describes itself as a 'community based cafe' that is 'open to everyone', said it 'couldn't go on' due to the rising costs of food and 'other factors'.
The team behind the cafe have two other sites in Greater Manchester, one within The Willows Dementia Hub in Rochdale and the second at Hollingworth Lake.
