Wayne Rooney reckons it will take three years for Manchester United to challenge at the top again - and urged fans to be patient with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The former United striker has told his old club they cannot buy their way to success, but must follow Liverpool's example and gradually build a team that can compete with Europe's finest.
Rooney will face his old club on Thursday night when United visit Derby County in the FA Cup fifth round. It is a good chance to win some silverware for the Red Devils, who have not won the Premier League title since 2013, and trail leaders Liverpool by a staggering 37 points this season.
