Motorcyclists from across the region rode along the M60 today to mark Remembrance Sunday. A yearly occasion, the Ring of Red took place today in memory of those lost to war since WW1.

The event features thousands of motorcyclists dressed in red making a lap of the region's motorway. Participants meet at Birch Services on the M62 near Heywood before embarking on their ceremonial drive that lasts for more than an hour.

The aim of the ride is to have a physical show of support for the Armed Forces and also raises money for charity. When viewed from above the riders who usually drive in tandem appear to make a large poppy around Manchester.
