I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! fans couldn't hold back the tears after spotting Melvin Odoom's heartfelt shout-out during Wednesday night's show, and now they have called for him to take over in the upcoming bushtucker trial.

At the end of the episode, Ant and Dec strolled into camp as usual to announce who would be taking on the next challenge to secure meals for camp.

When it was revealed that Radio 1 DJ Melvin wouldn't be participating in the trial, he poignantly raised his mug and said: "Happy birthday mum." This gesture touched viewers at home, with comments such as: "That was such a smooth, nice way to say happy birthday to melvin's mum why am I emotional," and "Why am I crying at melvin odoom wishing his mum a happy birthday?!".

It lead to viewers calling for a change when it was revealed who'd face the Rank Bank trial, with votes casting Danny Jones of McFly, DDean McCullough, and Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall into the fray.
