Temperatures will turn 'much milder' in Greater Manchester this weekend, according to Met Office forecasters. Conditions will turn warmer and brighter from tomorrow (Friday) after a freezing cold period for our region and much of the country.
Storm Bert brought zero-degree temperatures and snowfall, as well as heavy downpours and strong winds. Storm Conall then hit some parts of the UK yesterday, but has now moved onto the Netherlands.
Met Office meteorologist Greg Dewhurst said the weather is now returning to a 'typical end of November'. READ NEXT: Freezing fog rush hour warning issued by Met Office across Greater Manchester "Conall pulled away early lunchtime (on Wednesday), and is now rapidly deepening – there’s quite an intense storm as it pushes into the Netherlands", he said. "That’s all clearing now UK-wise, and allowing high pressure to build in from the north at the moment, so it’s getting drier, quite clear as well." In our region after a relatively cold day today, with some 'freezing fog' forecast for this morning, milder temperatures are forecast for tomorrow with the mercury reaching highs of 11C during the afternoon.
Dry weather with a mix of sunny and cloudy intervals is expected. On Saturday it will feel even milder in Greater Manchester as temperatures climb to a high of 14C during the afternoon.
