Dozens of flood alerts and warnings are in place across the country as Brits are braced for Storm Darragh. The UK is set to be battered by the elements as the fourth named storm of the season arrives later today (December 6).
The North West has already faced a spell of heavy rain and strong winds on Thursday evening. Roads were left under water in parts of Rossendale while there was severe travel disruption in some areas of Greater Manchester.
Six red flood warnings remain in place this morning along the River Irwell in Ramsbottom and Rossendale, plus one at Poynton Brook in Poynton, near Stockport.
