Warner Bros. Motion Pictures Group and CJ ENM have signed a new agreement to co-develop, co-finance, and distribute English-language and Korean-language feature film remakes of each studio’s films.
Through this new pact, initially, Warner Bros. Motion Pictures will act as lead studio on an English-language film emanating from CJ ENM’s library, and CJ ENM will act as lead studio on a Korean-language movie emanating from the Warner Bros.
Pictures library. Warner Bros. Pictures and CJ ENM will be respectively responsible for the development and production of their remakes, with each studio providing input on key creative decisions including each project’s writer, director, producer, and cast as well as shared oversight of a film’s budget.
Warner Bros. Pictures will serve as distributor on the movies worldwide, with the exception of CJ ENM distributing in South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Turkey on the CJ ENM remake.
