Vigil’s Suranne Jones reveals surprising reason why she would turn down a role in Line of Duty

VIGIL star Suranne Jones has revealed the surprising reason why she couldn't take on a role in Line of Duty. The talented actress has played a range of characters, but admits she "wouldn't rush" for a part on the award-winning series.

Suranne, 43, is currently entertaining audiences as DCI Amy Silva in the new BBC drama created by the makers of Line of Duty.

The officer is sent on board a submarine to investigate the murder of Craig Burke - LoD alum Martin Compston. Suranne explained: "You watch something like Line of Duty (and the police officers) reel off all of the procedural stuff. "And it’s like, ‘I want to give you a medal’, as it’s so hard to do and she (Vicky McClure) does it brilliantly, as do all of the guys in Line of Duty.".
