Vicky Phelan travelled to the United States in January to take part in a clinical trial which she hopes will prolong her life, although she has suffered plenty of side effects along the way.
Now the cervical smear whistle blower has spoken about what exactly the clinical trial has done for her, and how much it has impacted and prolonged her life to date.
Speaking to the Irish Sunday Mirror, Vicky opened up about how sick the trial has been making her feel over the last few months: ‘The doctor is constantly trying to adjust the doses to keep the tumour levels down.’ ‘I was on the main drug [M7824] every two weeks and the other two once a month, but now I’m on a full dose of the main drug and one of the others every two weeks.’ Vicky has been
