Teesside Live reported.At Newcastle Crown Court, prosecutor Omar Ahmad said Tiffin carried out the attacks in September this year.He said the victim had been in a relationship with Tiffin for around six months and he had been living with her at her home.In her victim statement she said: "He has battered me black and blue.
I'm so ashamed of myself for being in a relationship with him. He's absolutely disgusting."It was then that Kate Barnes, defending Tiffin, told the court: "He wishes to express through me his remorse.
He also wishes to express his remorse to her."Mr Tiffin is of the view that this was a good relationship. Being in drink is no mitigation.
