Jim Goodwin is hoping to have playmaker Vinny Besuijen available to him over the New Year period after allowing the Dutchman to go home for Christmas as he tried to recover from a sickness bug.
The Aberdeen manager will assess Besuijen today and hopes to have him in the squad that travels to Ayrshire for Wednesday's clash with Kilmarnock.
The attacking midfielder hasn't featured in any of three defeats suffered by the Dons since the Premiership resumed after the World Cup break last week.
Asked if he could be back for Killie, Goodwin responded: "We hope so. We’ve had a bit of a bug going through the camp so one or two boys have been missing days here and there.
