‘Vice Is Broke’ Filmmaker Eddie Huang Signs With WME
deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Filmmaker, actor, chef and television personality Eddie Huang has signed with WME. Huang is coming off the Toronto world premiere of his film Vice Is Broke, which Mubi recently acquired for distribution in North America and select European territories.
The film examines the rise and fall of Vice Media, which filed for bankruptcy in June 2023 after once being valued in the billions.
Huang, who previously hosted Huang’s World for Vice, offers a first-person account of the company’s trajectory, blending cultural analysis with an exploration of the corporate and personal ramifications of its collapse.
In addition to directing and appearing in the doc, Huang produced the project through his Cash Only banner, alongside QC Entertainment and Maya Rodrigo.
