Vaccine 'passport' chaos as top Tory says you may need one to go to supermarket

A top Tory has sparked fresh confusion over "vaccine passports" after claiming you could need the document to go shopping. Dominic Raab said needing a bit of paper to go to the supermarket "hasn’t been ruled out" and is "under consideration".

That is despite the Vaccines Minister saying just a week ago that a domestic "passport" scheme - allowing Brits who've had the jab access to certain businesses - would be "discriminatory".

Nadhim Zahawi said last week "we’re not" looking at the idea, adding: "Vaccines are not mandated in this country... We yet don’t know what the impact of vaccines on transmission is.

And it would be discriminatory." Yet Foreign Secretary Mr Raab, Boris Johnson's deputy, said the idea was not being ruled out.
