Eight months after the closing all of its New York City locations, Upright Citizens Brigade announced Wednesday it has closed its famed Sunset theater due to financial constraints amid the pandemic.
Co-founders Amy Poehler, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh shared the announcement on Instagram, writing on the Los Angeles Instagram account for the comedic institution, "We have been forced to sell our theater on Sunset.
We have been unable to make mortgage payments during this extended shutdown. We know this theater was a home for so many, and so many people were responsible for helping it grow.
