In addition to the penile spines, "we think there are probably 500 fascinating other stories out there—that's part of the excitement of this paper," Bejerano said in 2011.Other changes brought about by the hundreds of deletions, caused our brains to get bigger and our faces to no longer be covered in sensory whiskers.
