New weather maps reveal a wave of snow is set to blanket the UK in the lead-up to Christmas, with some regions potentially seeing up to eight inches of snowfall.The map, crafted by WXCharts, depicts a massive weather front hovering over Scotland, northern and eastern England, and parts of Wales on 13 December.
A second temperature map from WXCharts indicates that parts of Scotland will endure -5C temperatures, with Newcastle expecting 0C and London and the south east of England bracing for 3C on 14 December.
As much as eight inches of snow could descend in some of the hardest-hit areas around the Scottish Borders, while northwest England, coastal regions of Wales and much of Northern Ireland are also predicted significant accumulations.
However, a few regions will dodge the falling snowflakes - including Yorkshire, East Anglia, the Midlands and southeast England.
