UK weather maps have revealed a 290-mile wall of snow is set to blanket the country over two days in early January.The Met Office has issued a 44-hour yellow warning for large parts of the UK, predicting up to 1ft of snowfall from 12pm on Saturday (January 4) to 9am on Monday (January 6).
Areas including much of England and almost all of Wales are on alert.The snow is expected to first hit the south coast of England and the bottom of Wales on Saturday evening, affecting areas like Southampton, Cardiff and Swansea.
WXCharts also predicts that most of Scotland, the Lake District, Pennines and part of the North York Moors will be impacted.
By midnight on Sunday, the snow is predicted to have moved on from Southampton, hitting London and Kent. Most of Wales, up to around Welshpool, is also expected to see snowfall.
