UK weather forecast: Weekend washout as heavy rain and 60mph winds batter country

While much of the UK is expected to be dry and mild today, it's all change at the weekend with strong winds and heavy rain forecast.
Much of the west of England and Scotland will see rainfall by Saturday morning, moving eastwards across the country. The Met Office has warned of heavy rain on Sunday too, but hasn't specified exactly where it's expected to hit.
The Met Office's Emma Salter said: “Friday night we will see a band of rain coming into the west, moving eastwards. "That doesn’t look too heavy but on Saturday morning the wind will pick up. “Western regions could see gusts of up to 50mph or 60mph over higher
