Thunderstorms are set to hit the UK next week, bringing the sunny weekend to an abrupt end. Today will see a mix of sunshine and showers as a weather front brings clouds to the south west of England and south Wales.
Heavier downpours with the potential to turn thundery are forecast later in the day in the Midlands and north of England. Temperatures are set to get cooler, but could still reach a high of 18C in the south east, which is expected to stay dry and bright with 14 to 15C felt quite widely.
Next week is set to bring even more rain, as high pressure starts to build across the UK. Showers and cloud are forecast in the east of England on Monday, particularly Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and East Anglia.
