Britain is set for a washout weekend with a month's worth of rain expected to fall in 24 hours, forecasters have warned. Between 35-50mm of rain is expected to fall on Saturday potentially hampering plans for thousands of drinkers in England who can go to the pub for the first time in three months.
The Met Office has, meanwhile, put a yellow warning in place across western Scotland, with heavy rain likely to cause delays to transport and some road flooding.
The warning has been issued between 1am Friday and 3am Saturday. The Environment Agency has again warned of potential for flooding in Keswick, Cumbria, today, and SEPA has put five alerts in place in Scotland.
