He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

SAGE predicted there will be little prospect for family get-togethers if the virus remains at a “high and controlled” level.
However, there will be “greater potential” for loosening the rules for a limited period if the virus gets to a “low and controlled” level.
And that low level might be achieved through a national lockdown - of the kind Boris Johnson put into place last week. The projection will give a glimmer of hope to people wanting to hug relatives and grandparents for the first time in nine months.
