Alien-like jellyfish have been washing up on a UK beach in their swarms as the sea heats up in record-breaking weather.A section of the Welsh coastline has become home to freakish compass jellyfish, which leave a tentacle stuck in their prey to keep stinging them while floating off.

At almost 12inches across in size, the beastly compass jellyfish is so large that it is able to feast on small fish, crabs and even other jellyfish.The compass jellyfish - or Chrysaora hysoscella to give its scientific name - gets its name from the distinctive brown markings which look just like a compass.
Residents and photographers in Wales and the West Country have taken to social media to share their own snaps of the species along with others such as moon jellies and glass paperweights.
