'Explosions' have been heard after a large fire broke out at a recycling centre in Tyseley, sending huge plumes of smoke across Birmingham.
The West Midlands Fire Service was called to reports of a fire at around 8am. Around 50 firefighters, from ten crews, have been sent to tackle the blaze. 'Explosions' were heard, witnesses say, before footage captured dark clouds billowing from the unit, according to Birmingham Live.
The smoke could be seen for several miles across the city on Saturday morning as firefighters tackled the inferno. Residents in the local area were being warned to keep all windows shut to keep the smoke at bay.
