'Unacceptable' large-scale violence erupted on the streets of Bolton moments after police were called about fireworks. Two men have been taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries during a brawl in the Halliwell area in the early hours of this morning (September 11).
Greater Manchester Police says it initially responded to calls at around 1am in connection with fireworks being set off in the Halliwell Road area.
The force says it then received calls about fights that had broken out in the same area. Four men - aged 25, 27, 31 and 35 - have all been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
They remain in custody for questioning this afternoon.
