Pictured above is one of the dogs Lunar, who Oldham Mountain Rescue Team said was 'a bit unsure' about going into a special rescue bag but was 'much happier' on solid ground.
Both dogs and their owner, a man, were unhurt. The rescue on Thursday night near Newhey in Rochdale involved 22 members of the mountain rescue team and took more than two hours.
They responded to reports of a man 'stuck on a ledge with his two dogs' in a quarry. One rescuer abseiled down to reach them and they were hauled back to the top of a crag.
