Two cut from cars and rushed to hospital after early hours crash

Two people were rushed to hospital in the early hours of Saturday (July 8) after a crash in Bolton. Emergency services were called to Halliwell Road around 3am to reports that two cars had been involved in a smash.

Two people had to be cut from the vehicles by firefighters. Both were rushed to hospital, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) confirmed.

A GMFRS spokesperson said: "At around 3am on Saturday 8 July, firefighters were called out to a road traffic collision on Halliwell Road, Bolton.

Two fire engines from Bolton Central and a technical rescue unit from Leigh quickly attended the scene where two cars had collided. "Two casualties were freed from the vehicles by firefighters using spreading and cutting equipment.
