Twenty two more people have died in Greater Manchester's hospitals after contracting coronavirus. At least 120 people have lost their lives at facilities across the region having testing positive for the disease, according to NHS data.

Further deaths have been recorded at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, Stockport NHS Foundation Trust, and Tameside and Glossop NHS Foundation Trust today (Wednesday, April 1).

The UK's death toll increased by 563 in 24 hours - to 2,352. Office for National Statistics (ONS) data released yesterday (Tuesday) revealed the true number of UK deaths from Covid-19 is higher than published in daily NHS trust reports.
