Another six people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died in Greater Manchester’s hospitals. This brings the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the region to 1,659 - although the true number is likely to be much higher.

One more person has died at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and one more person has died at Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, NHS figures confirm.

A further four people have also died while in the care of Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. The total number of coronavirus deaths at hospital trusts in Greater Manchester is now: Bolton NHS Foundation Trust - 198 Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust - 9 Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust - 345 Pennine
