British TV presenter Fred Sirieix now has an Olympic medallist in the family. The daughter of the First Dates maitre d’ and restauranteur, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, won a dramatic bronze medal in the women’s sychronized diving 10m platform competition at the Paris games.
Spendolini-Sirieix and partner Lois Toulson moved up from fourth place to third with a final round dive that left her dad, who has been commentating on the diving for the BBC, in rapture as he leapt from his poolside seat.
China won the event, with North Korea second. Soon after, Sirieix posted a social media message, calling the bronze win a “beautiful moment” and saying he was “bursting with pride, joy and happiness.” What emotions!
