'Truly irreplaceable': Mum-of-six, 36, dies just days after suddenly feeling tired
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA woman who watched her sister die just days after she suddenly became lethargic has spoken of her grief. Eileen Azzopardi, known fondly as Iyeiye, passed away in hospital eight days after she fell ill without warning on Easter Sunday (March 31).
The mum-of-six, who lived in Audenshaw, had been spending time with her family when she became extremely tired. Her loved ones grew concerned when Eileen became delirious and unresponsive, struggling to remember the password to her phone.
As she fell asleep on the sofa, her family decided to call 999 and the much-loved mum, who had six daughters aged 12 to 18, was rushed to Manchester Royal Infirmary. The mum was placed into an induced coma while medics carried out an endoscopy, a test where a camera is placed inside the body.
