A woman in her 50s has died after being hit by a car on a residential street in Bolton, the Manchester Evening News has learned.
Police, paramedics and fire crews, along with an air ambulance, were scrambled to the scene on Melbourne Grove in Horwich at around 2.15pm today (August 7).
A pedestrian was hit by a car along the stretch of road. She was tragically pronounced dead a short time later. It is also understood that the driver has been arrested in connection with the incident. There was a major emergency response at the scene following the collision, with Melbourne Grove taped off by officers. An air ambulance landed on a nearby cricket ground.
