Sir Tom Jones has expressed regret over his "stupid" behaviour that led to him "snubbing" The Beatles legend John Lennon, years after he had the urge to "punch him in the mouth".
The Welsh singer was performing at A Salute to Sir Lew Grade in April 1975. The tribute show to mark the media mogul's impact on entertainment went on to become Lennon's final televised performance.
After The Beatles disbanded, Lennon rarely performed to large audiences. However, he joined the likes of comedian Peter Sellers and Dave Allen on the star-studded bill. After shaking hands with Dame Julie Andrews and Sellers, Sir Tom found himself standing next to Lennon, after the pair were at the centre of a feud.
