internet in the aftermath of last night’s thunderstorms. BT has reported an ongoing issue with its telephone and broadband services amid the adverse weather conditions on Tuesday evening.
A number of disgruntled customers have taken to the website Down Detector to report the issues. The outages appear to be mostly affecting users in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.
A spokesperson for BT said that users in the capital could be without internet for much of today due to the “scale of the damage” caused by flooding and storms.
Most issues were reported at around 9pm last night, as heavy rain, lightning and thunder battered much of Scotland during the course of the evening.
